BGB Seizes Smuggled Goods Worth Over Tk 1 Crore in Brahmanbaria  

Titas Tribune Report:  The 25th Battalion of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), under the Cumilla Sector’s Sarail Battalion, successfully intercepted a large consignment of smuggled goods at Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria early Sunday morning.  


Acting on a tip-off, BGB personnel conducted an operation around 3:30 AM in the Chandura Bypass area of the upazila. On sensing the presence of law enforcement, the smugglers fled the scene, leaving the contraband behind.  


The seized items include a diverse range of goods:  

- 3,196 pieces of *Haji Rumal* (traditional cloth)  

- 2,307 injections for treating critical diseases like kidney, liver, heart, and cancer  

- 6,280 tablets and capsules for kidney, liver, and nerve-related conditions  

- 100 three-piece suits  

- 80 woolen shawls  

- 4,584 chocolates  

- 102 pieces of cosmetics  


The total estimated value of the seized items is approximately Tk 1,05,83,820.  

The contraband goods are being handed over to the Akhaura Customs Office for further legal action.  

This operation highlights the ongoing vigilance of the BGB in curbing smuggling activities along the border areas.
